Welcome to Higgly Farm. From left, some of our girls: Duchess, her mom Snowlady, Cary, Julia and Tully (short for Tallulah). On November 11 Cary had a beautiful little girl during the first and very bitter storm of the year and we call her Stormie. Tully had a scamp of a little boy on December 21, the Winter Solstice, and we call him Jack Frost. In a few weeks Snowlady will be delivering her new cria and White Lightning is the daddy.
We buy, breed, raise and sell Champion alpacas for their fleece, for breeding, show, pets, 4-H, and weed control. Our breeding Herdsire is AOM White Lightning. We are accepting breeding appointments for him for this fall. ELK Winston is our Junior Herdsire and we are accepting appointments for him this fall also. There will be more to come about these BOYS, and our newest guy we're calling "Blackie" along with all of our pedigrees, and pictrue, too.
We attended the April 2010 MaPaca Jubilee (Mid-Atlantic Alpaca Association) in Pennsylvania. This highest level V alpaca show is the top on the East Coast and one of the few in the Country. There were 1,000 animal entrants this year. We entered 4 of our animals and took home 4 ribbons. White Lightning and Julia both took 1st Place Blue Ribbons. Winston is pretty impressive because took a 5th Place Yellow Ribbon in the dark brown category and we've determined he is really a Dark Rose Grey. Duchy also took a 5th Place Yellow Ribbon and she was only 8 months old. Not bad for the First show for us and our alpacas.

Here on the farm we make The Original HIGGLY FARM Alpaca Pals Pet Toys for Dogs and Cats. In sizes from Toy to Jumbo, these environmentally green quality pet toys are made of all natural material and stuffed and decorated with alpaca fiber. Hand-washing the fiber in shampoo takes away the natural alpaca smell. Or does it? Dogs and cats still smell it and it drives them crazy. We sew more fiber into a seam for them to tug on and pull out. These toys stimulate pets' hunting instincts and no living creature is harmed. When they tear the toy open, and they will, simply remove the squeaker and the fiber stuffing and give it back. The alpaca smell remains for more hours of play. When it is just a rag, it is time to order another HIGGLY FARM Alpaca Pal.
We'll be adding ordering information to this site soon.

We will be selling our bumper crops of late season tomatoes here this fall. We only use the very best all natural Black Gold of fertilizers. What else? Alpaca Poop. Applied wet or dry, the nitrogen naturally releases with water or make it into a tea for a quick plant perk-up. It doesn't burn. Does it stink? No, it has an earthy smell. Where can you get some for your own garden? Right here or by mail. More information on ordering to come.
Now that we've piqued your interest...
We look forward to hearing from you.
