Welcome to Higgly Farm. From left, some of our girls: Duchess, her mom Snowlady, Cary, Julia and Tully (short for Tallulah).
We buy, breed, raise and sell Champion alpacas for their fleece, for breeding, show, pets, and 4-H projects. Our breeding Herdsire is AOM White Lightning. We are accepting breeding appointments for him for this fall. ELK Winston is our Junior Herdsire and we are accepting appointments for him this fall also. There will be more to come about these BOYS, and our newest guy we're calling "Blackie" along with all of their pedigrees, and pictures, too.
We attended the April 2010 MaPaca Jubilee (Mid-Atlantic Alpaca Association) in Pennsylvania. This highest level V alpaca show is the top on the East Coast and one of the few in the Country. There were 1,000 animal entrants this year. We entered 4 of our animals and took home 4 ribbons. White Lightning and Julia both took 1st Place Blue Ribbons. Winston is pretty impressive because took a 5th Place Yellow Ribbon in the dark brown category and we've determined he is really a Dark Rose Grey. Duchy also took a 5th Place Yellow Ribbon and she was only 8 months old. Not bad for the First show for us and our alpacas.

Here on the farm we make The Original HIGGLY FARM Alpaca Pals Pet Toys for Dogs and Cats. In sizes from Toy to Jumbo, these environmentally green quality pet toys are made of all natural material and stuffed and decorated with alpaca fiber. Hand-washing the fiber in shampoo takes away the natural alpaca smell. Or does it? Dogs and cats still smell it and it drives them crazy. We sew more fiber into a seam for them to tug on and pull out. These toys stimulate pets' hunting instincts and no living creature is harmed. When they tear the toy open, and they will, simply remove the squeaker and the fiber stuffing and give it back. The alpaca smell remains for more hours of play. When it is just a rag, it is time to order another HIGGLY FARM Alpaca Pal.
We'll be adding ordering information to this site soon.

Chicken Eggs
We are also accepting standing orders for weekly egg delivery service. We deliver the best eggs around for a very reasonble fee. Unlike a number of local farms, we sort our eggs by size and can provide you with Large, Extra Large, Jumbo, Giant and what we call Monster size eggs. You just have to see them and taste them to appreciate the luxury that is eggs from pastured chickens.
Our girls (hens) determine what size and how many eggs we get. They’re laying between 12 and 18 eggs a day right now. The orders of our existing customers are filled first. Let me know what size you want and how many and I’ll let you know what is available. We’ll be selling our delicious Guinea Fowl eggs when they start laying again in the spring.
Delivery orders require minimum 2 dozen any size. I deliver on Mondays to Round Hill and Purcellville. If rain or snow keeps me from getting out or getting back in, I’ll deliver when the roads clear. In the past few years we’ve been snowed in a few times. Life on the farm is unpredictable so my delivery times will vary. To not inconvenience you, I ask that you leave an ice chest, to protect the eggs from weather and animals, and a Ziploc bag with the cash or check inside, by your front door. I’ll leave the eggs and take the bag.
Our prices include delivery fee to Round Hill and Purcellville. Farther Out – fee is higher:
EXTRA LARGE $5(2.1-2.2 oz)
JUMBO $6(2.3-2.4 oz)
GIANT $7(2.5-2.6 oz)
MONSTER-limited $ 8 (2.7 oz)
MONSTER PLUS-rare $9(2.8 oz)
SPECIAL RESERVE-rarer $10(2.9 oz)
SPECIAL RESERVE PLUS-rarest $11 (3.0 – 4.0 oz)
Pick-Up: We can arrange days and times. I don’t like to leave eggs unattended for too long. The 2 dirt roads to our farm are bumpy and slow-going and in poor weathe we would suggest a 4-wheel drive. Our gates are locked to keep our roaming dogs and alpacas inside. So I’ve made PICK-UP easy –Outside of our gate your marked cartons will be inside our ice chest. You take your order and leave your Ziploc bag with the cash or check inside. Let me know if you have more questions.
Contact us to get you started on home delivery of our very fresh eggs.
Now that we've piqued your interest...
We look forward to hearing from you.
